Semester One Projects:
Hanna 10-15-12
This is a scribble drawing of my sister, Hanna. I used a picture from a while ago to go off of, so she looks a little different now; but I like the way this project turned out. I used figure eights to show value. This project was done in pen.
Peanut Butter Recall Painting 11-5-12
For this assignment we were supposed to take a current event or recent problem. Then we were to take that event or problem and use text that relates to it to create value on a picture that represents the event or problem. I chose to do the current event of the peanut butter recalls, because of salmonella poisoning. So my object to represent that is a peanut butter jar.
One Point Perspective Hall Way 11-25-12
This was a very short project in which we were required to draw a hallway using one point perspective. I personally liked this project because we got to actually go sit in the hallway and draw what we saw; this provided us with a nice change from the normal run of the mill school day. I like the way my hall turned out; I feel like my shade contrast is good and you can still see distinct edges.
Wacky House 12-15-12
This was a great 3-point perspective drawing project that we got to do right before Christmas. I had so much fun with this and it is one of my favorite projects so far this year. I am glad that I colored my front door and garage door, it really makes them pop.
Shaded Blobs 12-20-12
This project was a great filler in between the big project (the 3-point house) and Christmas break. I had lots of fun trying to see what i could find in my own creation. We got to pore and splatter water color paints on the paper and let it dry. Then when it was dry we had to see what shapes we could find in it. I found a bunch of people.
The Eaten Cookie 1-2-13
This was a great mini project for the still life unite. I mean we got to draw a cookie as we eat it, what could be better? It was a good idea to use cookies because I mean, who doesn't like cookies? Yum!
Semester Two Projects:
Imagine 2-3-13
For this project we were required to spell out an inspirational word, the catch was it had to be in well known logos of icons. I decided to use the word IMAGINE. The I is from IKEA, the M is Gmail, a- Amazon.com, g- globber, i- The Incredibles, N- Nickelodeon, and E from Wall-E. I really enjoyed this project!
Candy, Candy, Candy!!! 2-15-13
This was a great project where we had to take candy wrappers an draw them on water color paper. Once you had finish that, you had to paint them with water colors. It was kinda hard because u had to make sure you let things dry before you painted something next to it, other wise the paints might bleed together. I had a lot of fun with this project and i like the way mine turned out.
Giraffe 2-25-13
This was done on a scratch broad. This project was supposed the help us start thinking back wards. Like, instead of drawing in the black all the time we had to focused on the white instead. Mrs. Johnson wanted to get us thinking this way before we started carving our linoleum blocks for our print making unit that u can see below.
Love Headphones 4-15-13
For this project we had to do an acrylic painting to symbolism a song and then have the lyrics some where on the page. You probably can't find my lyrics in this picture because they are well hidden. My song was Headphones by Britt Nicole. The song is all about how no matter what happens during the day you can always escape to your music. I love the way this turned out and I really enjoy working with acrylic paint!
Gerard Way 5-17-13
This project was all about taking two pictures that go together and weaving them into each other. I chose to do a picture of Gerard Way and an old style microphone. Gerard Way is the lead singer in the band My Chemical Romance. So that is how the microphone fits in but I chose an old style microphone because I think they look way cooler than the newer ones. I am very pleased with the way this turned out and I can't wait to take it home!
